ANSA McAL has named experienced Caribbean executive Natalie Abrahams as its new Executive Director for Barbados and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), creating a senior leadership position focused on expanding the group’s presence across the Eastern Caribbean.

Abrahams will officially take up the role on October 1, 2026, reporting directly to ANSA McAL’s Group Chief Operating Officer.

As the group’s senior representative in Barbados and the wider Eastern Caribbean, she will help steer ANSA McAL’s regional priorities while strengthening coordination across its businesses in those markets.

New role targets regional growth

The newly established position places Abrahams at the centre of ANSA McAL’s strategy for Barbados and the OECS.

Her portfolio will include identifying and advancing growth opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders and supporting the group’s external affairs and advocacy efforts.

She will also work to deepen collaboration among ANSA McAL companies operating across the region, supporting a more coordinated approach to the group’s strategic objectives.

ANSA McAL Chief Executive Officer Anthony N Sabga III said Abrahams brings a combination of experience and leadership capabilities suited to the group’s ambitions.

“Her exceptional combination of strategic insight, commercial acumen, regional expertise, coupled with her proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and drive transformational growth, makes her uniquely positioned to help advance ANSA McAL’s ambitions in Barbados and the wider Eastern Caribbean,” Sabga said.

More than 25 years of leadership experience

Abrahams brings more than 25 years of experience across several industries, including telecommunications, energy, consumer goods, professional services and international development.

Her career has included leading organisational transformations, managing strategic initiatives and overseeing teams across a range of business environments.

Most recently, Abrahams served as Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Barbados, where she was responsible for one of the telecommunications company’s highest revenue-generating markets.

During her tenure, she also led the deployment of Barbados’ 5G network.

Before joining Digicel, Abrahams held senior positions at the Barbados Light and Power Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where her work included major transformation initiatives and complex strategic programmes.

Experience extends beyond the private sector

Abrahams has also contributed to several organisations involved in Barbados’ business and national development landscape.

Her board and advisory experience includes roles with Barbados’ Digital Transformation Board, the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Barbados Employers’ Confederation.

That combination of corporate leadership and wider stakeholder engagement is expected to play an important role as ANSA McAL seeks to strengthen relationships and pursue new opportunities across its Eastern Caribbean markets.

Academic and executive credentials

Abrahams holds an MBA specialising in Human Resources Management from Heriot-Watt University and graduated with First Class Honours in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

She has also undertaken executive development programmes through the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Cave Hill School of Business.

Her appointment becomes effective October 1 as ANSA McAL moves to sharpen its regional leadership structure and position its Barbados and OECS operations for further growth.
