In recognition of Human Resources (HR) Day, Sandals Negril extended a thoughtful gesture of appreciation to eight members of the Hanover Health Centre’s HR team, treating them to a day of relaxation and enjoyment at the resort recently. The experience was made possible through complimentary passes offered by General Manager Melissa Clarke.
For Mrs. Faylene Russell, head of the visiting delegation, the gesture represented more than a day away from the demands of work. It was a meaningful acknowledgement of the contributions of human resources professionals, whose efforts help ensure that healthcare teams are supported and that essential services continue to operate efficiently.
“Human resources professionals work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that our facility runs smoothly, that our doctors and nurses are supported, and that the needs of our patients can be met. To have our team recognised in such a thoughtful way by Sandals Negril is truly heartwarming. The passes were a very welcome courtesy from Ms. Clarke, and we are sincerely grateful for the opportunity,” Mrs. Russell shared.
The team embraced the opportunity to unwind, exploring the resort’s amenities and enjoying the all inclusive experience. Much of the day was spent by the beach, where the team members could relax and enjoy each other’s company away from their usual responsibilities. The experience culminated in dinner at the Bayside Restaurant, bringing a memorable day of appreciation to a close.
For Ms. Clarke, the gesture was a reflection of the importance of recognising individuals who play a significant role in supporting others.
“Every successful organisation depends on people who are committed to ensuring that things run as they should. While their contributions may not always be visible, their impact is significant. This day was about celebrating the people who dedicate themselves to supporting others, often without expecting recognition in return,” Ms. Clarke noted.
The visit underscored the importance of acknowledging the professionals who work behind the scenes to keep essential services functioning. For the Hanover Health Centre’s human resources team, the day offered a welcome opportunity to feel valued, appreciated, and celebrated beyond the workplace.
