The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is spotlighting a Canadian connection at the finale of Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month 2026, with Guyanese-Canadian chef, TV personality and author Devan “Chef Dev” Rajkumar, joining the destination’s official grand finale.
On May 30 at Tamarind Hills Resort, Wild Tamarind Restaurant, the finale brought together Caribbean flavours, live entertainment and a collaborative beachside cookout featuring Chef Dev alongside Wild Tamarind Executive Chef Amalin Raj, with desserts from Antigua-based pastry chefs Jahkaydah Isaac of The Flaky Crust and Kendel Harrigan of The KenDen.
Chef Dev is a familiar face to Canadian audiences, known for his appearances on Cityline, The Social and The Good Stuff with Mary Berg, as well as his debut cookbook, Mad Love, and GustoTV series, Global Street Eats. His participation adds a Canadian market connection to Culinary Month, which has grown from a popular culinary week into a full month of destination- wide programming.
“Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month has become an important platform for sharing thedestination’s food culture with visitors and industry partners,” said Tameka Wharton, Director of Tourism, Canada. “Having Chef Dev take part in the finale creates a meaningful Canadian connection and gives the travel trade another way to speak to Antigua and Barbuda’s appeal through food, culture and local experiences.”
For travel advisors, Culinary Month offers a unique seasonal hook for clients interested in culinary travel, Caribbean culture and immersive destination experiences. While the finale marks the close of the 2026 celebration, many of the participating restaurants, local dining experiences and chef-led hospitality moments remain a part of Antigua and Barbuda’s year- round culinary offerings.Coming from Caribbean roots, food has always been about more than what is on the plate,” said Chef Devan Rajkumar.
“Every island brings its own flavours, ingredients, dishes and stories, and that is what makes Caribbean cuisine so special. To see it all come together in Antigua and Barbuda through Culinary Month is such a celebration of who we are as a region. I’m honoured to be part of it.”
