Grenada’s luxury tourism sector is preparing for another significant addition with the arrival of InterContinental Grenada–La Sagesse, a new beachfront resort scheduled to welcome guests in November 2026.

The property, which will form part of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts’ global luxury collection under IHG Hotels & Resorts, is being developed along the scenic shores of La Sagesse Bay on Grenada’s southeastern coastline. Once completed, the resort is expected to strengthen the island’s position within the Caribbean’s growing premium travel market while introducing a new international hospitality brand to the destination.

A New Luxury Experience on Grenada’s Coast

Designed to capture the essence of contemporary Caribbean living, the resort will feature 120 guestrooms and suites overlooking either the bay or the surrounding resort landscape.

Developers say the property’s design will draw inspiration from Grenada’s natural environment, incorporating open-air elements, coastal influences, and locally inspired aesthetics to create a sense of connection between guests and the island.

The resort aims to deliver a luxury experience that balances refined comfort with authentic destination experiences, reflecting Grenada’s reputation for warm hospitality, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage.

According to George Vlachopoulos, Area General Manager, the project has been thoughtfully developed to celebrate the character of Grenada while delivering the elevated service standards associated with the InterContinental brand.

Five Distinct Culinary Experiences

Food and beverage offerings are expected to play a major role in the guest experience, with five dining concepts planned throughout the resort.

Among them is Mosaic, an all-day restaurant focused on Caribbean flavours and locally sourced ingredients presented through a contemporary lens. Guests seeking a more upscale dining experience will have access to Coralie, an open-air venue inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.

For sunset cocktails and panoramic ocean views, Solara rooftop bar will provide a relaxed social setting overlooking the coastline.

Additional options include Cove, a casual poolside and spa dining venue, and Café Amber, a café-style space serving coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go selections throughout the day.

Expanding Grenada’s Meetings and Events Market

Beyond leisure travel, InterContinental Grenada–La Sagesse is positioning itself as a destination for conferences, weddings, incentive travel, and corporate events.

The resort will feature more than 20,000 square feet of event space, including a large ballroom and a collection of indoor and outdoor venues designed to accommodate gatherings of varying sizes.

Developers believe the property’s event facilities will help strengthen Grenada’s appeal within the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) sector, while also providing new options for destination weddings and large-scale celebrations.

Wellness at the Heart of the Experience

Wellness and relaxation are also expected to be key pillars of the resort’s offering.

Plans include a full-service spa, fitness centre, Pilates facilities, and a range of wellness-focused experiences designed to encourage rest and rejuvenation.

Guests will additionally have access to water sports, beach activities, cultural excursions, culinary experiences, and island tours that showcase Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. Family travellers will benefit from a dedicated children’s programme designed to create engaging experiences for younger visitors.

Strengthening Grenada’s Luxury Tourism Landscape

One of the most notable aspects of the development is its location adjacent to Six Senses La Sagesse, creating what could become one of the Caribbean’s most distinctive luxury hospitality corridors.

The proximity of the two internationally recognised brands is expected to broaden the destination’s appeal among affluent travellers seeking wellness, culinary excellence, and immersive island experiences.

As global hospitality brands continue to expand their Caribbean presence, Grenada is increasingly attracting attention as a destination capable of delivering both exclusivity and authenticity. The addition of InterContinental Grenada–La Sagesse represents another milestone in the island’s tourism evolution, reinforcing its growing reputation as one of the region’s most compelling luxury travel destinations.

With its combination of beachfront location, international brand recognition, wellness-focused amenities, and event capabilities, the resort is poised to become one of Grenada’s most anticipated tourism developments when it opens its doors in 2026.
