Vincentian Entrepreneur Introduces Digital Platform CaribeCatalog

CaribeCatalog, developed by 24-year-old Nicholi John, offers businesses across the region a way to manage online sales, customer bookings and electronic payments through a single platform.

A new digital commerce platform developed in St Vincent and the Grenadines is seeking to make online business transactions more accessible for Caribbean entrepreneurs, particularly small enterprises that have traditionally relied on social media and manual payment arrangements.

CaribeCatalog, founded by 24-year-old Evesham native Nicholi John, provides businesses with online storefronts where customers can purchase products, schedule services and complete transactions using debit or credit cards.

The platform addresses a longstanding challenge for many regional entrepreneurs who have struggled to establish convenient online payment options, despite increasingly using digital channels to reach customers.

Addressing a Gap in Caribbean E-Commerce

John developed CaribeCatalog after encountering difficulties purchasing products through Instagram, where transactions often required several messages and separate payment arrangements.

“So many of our entrepreneurs are talented and hardworking, but they are running their entire businesses out of their social media inbox,” he said. “I wanted to give them the same tools a large online store has, without the cost or the technical headache. CaribeCatalog brings all of that together in one place, and listing a business is free.”

Through the platform, businesses can establish an online presence without developing their own e-commerce websites or investing in complex technical infrastructure.

CaribeCatalog also enables customers to make card payments, with the company stating that proceeds are transferred directly into participating businesses’ bank accounts.

Digital Tools Designed for Different Industries

Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional retail, CaribeCatalog accommodates several business models commonly found throughout the Caribbean.

Retailers can create product catalogues featuring different colours, sizes and variations while monitoring inventory and offering promotional discounts.

Businesses providing appointment-based services, including beauty salons, barbershops, spas and tour operators, can manage reservations, staff availability and cancellation policies.

The platform also supports businesses that operate through customised quotations. Customers can submit project requirements, receive pricing information and make deposit payments.

Restaurants, chefs and catering businesses can publish menus and accept orders for collection or delivery within designated service areas.

“A salon, a cook shop and a clothing boutique all run differently,” John explained. “CaribeCatalog lets each of them work their own way, while their customers get one simple experience.”

Business owners can oversee these activities through a central dashboard covering customer information, transactions, bookings and financial records.

Vincentian Businesses Begin Adopting the Platform

Several businesses in St Vincent and the Grenadines have already established a presence on CaribeCatalog, demonstrating its potential applications across different sectors.

Among them is Merom Watch Co., an emerging independent watch brand that identifies itself as the country’s first locally established watch company.

Inspired by Vincentian heritage and design, Merom uses the platform to display its collections and facilitate purchases by customers locally and overseas.

“Merom is exactly the kind of business CaribeCatalog was built for,” John said. “It is a Vincentian brand with a world-class product, and buying from them should be just as easy as buying from any big international store.”

Other participating businesses include Peak Promotions, which specialises in promotional staffing and brand activations; TE$ORERO | STUDIOS, a creative services business operated by Alejandro Tesorero; Max Mobile Repairs; and the Modern Language School of SVG.

Their participation illustrates how digital commerce infrastructure can support businesses beyond conventional product sales.

Building on Previous Digital Ventures

CaribeCatalog operates under iCohnnic Solutions, the technology company established by John.

The business also operates Tabanca, an online event marketplace introduced earlier in 2026 through tabanca.store.

Tabanca provides digital sales channels for event organisers, carnival bands and individuals trading event-related merchandise, packages and tickets.

John’s academic background combines finance and technology. A former national scholar, he earned First Class Honours in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of the West Indies before completing a master’s degree in Risk Management and Financial Engineering at Imperial College London.

His latest venture extends his company’s activities into broader commercial services, targeting businesses seeking accessible digital tools.

Supporting the Caribbean’s Digital Business Transition

The introduction of CaribeCatalog comes as entrepreneurs across the Caribbean increasingly depend on online visibility to attract customers, while practical barriers to electronic transactions remain a challenge for some businesses.

By combining payment processing, sales management and service bookings, the platform seeks to reduce the administrative work associated with operating across multiple digital channels.

For small businesses, access to these capabilities could support more efficient transactions and create opportunities to serve customers beyond their immediate communities, including Caribbean diaspora markets.

John is encouraging retailers, service providers, freelancers, food businesses and other entrepreneurs to explore the platform, which offers free business listings.
