Margaritaville Jamaica is preparing to invite public investment into its tourism and hospitality operations, announcing plans to launch an equity offering within the next 90 days.
The proposed transaction, being pursued in collaboration with Mayberry Investments and JMMB, would allow members of the public to acquire shares in the Jamaica-based business, opening a new avenue for participation in the country’s tourism industry.
The announcement comes as the company prepares for the 2026/2027 winter tourism season, with management expressing optimism about the sector’s outlook.
The planned offering represents a potential shift in the company’s ownership structure, allowing public investors to participate in its future financial performance.
Ian Dear, Chairman of Margaritaville Caribbean Group, described the initiative as an opportunity to expand investment participation while building on Jamaica’s established tourism industry.
“Jamaica has demonstrated remarkable resilience and continues to prove its strength and long-term appeal as a tourism destination. As we look ahead to what we anticipate will be a strong 2026/2027 winter season, we are excited about the immediate future of Margaritaville Jamaica,” Dear said.
The proposed offering would provide investors with exposure to a business operating across several of Jamaica’s major tourism destinations.
The company’s decision to pursue public investment comes amid expectations of continued tourism activity during the upcoming winter season.
Dear said widening access to ownership could allow more people to participate financially in the industry’s development.
“We are especially pleased at the prospect of giving the public an opportunity to become shareholders in our Jamaican operations and share in the value we aim to create through future growth and profitability. Tourism is central to Jamaica’s economy, and we believe there is tremendous value in widening the opportunity for ownership within the sector.”
The initiative reflects the company’s intention to connect its future business growth with broader investment participation, although the financial details of the offering have not yet been disclosed.
Margaritaville Jamaica operates entertainment, dining and hospitality venues in several of the island’s leading visitor destinations.
Its portfolio includes Margaritaville Montego Bay, Margaritaville Negril and Margaritaville Ocho Rios, along with Marguerites Seafood by the Sea.
Together, these establishments serve both international visitors and local customers, offering a mix of casual entertainment, dining and upscale restaurant experiences.
The company’s presence across multiple tourism centres positions its operations within Jamaica’s wider visitor economy.
While Margaritaville Jamaica has outlined a 90-day timeframe for the proposed public offering, several key elements remain outstanding.
The company has not yet announced the amount of capital it intends to raise, the proposed share price or the structure of the transaction.
These details are expected to be released as arrangements progress, with the offering subject to the relevant regulatory requirements and approvals.
If completed, the transaction would create an opportunity for public investors to acquire an ownership interest in Margaritaville Jamaica and participate in its future business performance.
