Sandals Resorts International (SRI) is strengthening its footprint in the Caribbean with plans to launch a Beaches Resort in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the company’s second property in the destination. The move comes less than a year after the debut of Sandals Saint Vincent, an adults-only luxury resort that opened in 2024.
The upcoming property will carry the Beaches Resorts brand, designed to deliver an all-inclusive luxury experience for families. Beaches currently operates three popular resorts: Beaches Negril and Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica, and Beaches Turks & Caicos. The Saint Vincent addition will broaden the brand’s presence and offer families a new option for immersive Caribbean vacations.
Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of SRI, described the expansion as part of “Sandals-Beaches 2.0,” a new era of growth with close to $1 billion earmarked for brand development. Speaking at the Trevello conference in Jamaica, Stewart emphasized the group’s commitment to innovation and family travel.
The Saint Vincent development joins an ambitious pipeline of upcoming projects. Later this year, construction will begin on Beaches Barbados, a 600-room resort designed with a vibrant “Main Street” of shops and restaurants, family entertainment zones, and high-energy social spaces. Plans are also underway for Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica and the conversion of Sandals Emerald Bay in The Bahamas into Beaches Exuma.
Sandals has already made a transformative mark in Saint Vincent. The adults-only Sandals Saint Vincent introduced the world to signature concepts like the “Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villas” and the “Buccan” dining experience, establishing the destination as a high-demand luxury hotspot. Stewart noted that SRI far exceeded the government’s initial request for $100 million in investment, ultimately committing $350 million to elevate the island’s hospitality landscape.
He pointed to strong performance indicators: an 88% increase in Google search demand for Saint Vincent since the resort’s opening, along with a 300% rise in airline lift into the destination.
“The local economy is roaring thanks to what we call the Sandals Effect,” Stewart explained. “When Sandals plants its flag, airlines and travelers follow.”
Since the launch of Argyle International Airport’s runway in 2017, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has gained momentum as a Caribbean destination to watch. The addition of a Beaches Resort is expected to strengthen this trajectory by attracting multi-generational travelers and diversifying the tourism economy.
With the new development, Sandals Resorts International is not only expanding its portfolio but also shaping Saint Vincent’s global image as a destination that blends luxury, authenticity, and family adventure.
