Jordan English claimed second place with his infectious tune “Darkers,” which DJs pumped out 11 times along the route. His performance earned him a $5,000 payout and solidified his status as a rising force in the Crop Over circuit.
Crowd favourite Lil Rick captured third place with “Dial 911,” a groovy number that played four times during judging. He walked away with $2,000 in prize money and the love of fans who danced every step of the way.
Each year, the Tune of De Crop competition sets the pace for the season, as artists, DJs, bands, and masqueraders fuel the hype with their song choices and road energy. This year, “Tek Charge” did more than dominate the airwaves, it captured the spirit of Kadooment Day, igniting pure revelry from start to finish.
Leadpipe didn’t just win a title, he charged ahead and delivered the soundtrack of the season.
