State of the Tourism Industry Conference 2026 will take place in Guyana for the very first time, welcoming the Caribbean’s top tourism minds and industry leaders this October. Mark your calendars for October 5–9, because this is one event you won’t want to miss.
Imagine Georgetown buzzing with hundreds of Caribbean tourism professionals, international delegates, media folks, young voices shaping the future, and policymakers, all gathering in one vibrant place to share ideas, spark innovation, and map out the future of Caribbean travel.
SOTIC is the Caribbean’s biggest annual get-together, and it’s where the region’s most important conversations happen.
Guyana’s Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues, is thrilled about hosting. She said it’s a huge milestone, showing how much the region trusts Guyana’s growing leadership in tourism and sees the country as a key player in shaping the Caribbean’s future.
Rodriguez noted that the conference will put Guyana on the map as a major spot for high-end business travel, think conferences, incentives, and exhibitions, that bring in big opportunities.
Hosting SOTIC is a clear sign that Guyana is rapidly becoming a must-visit destination. The country has been investing in everything from eco-tourism and adventure experiences to its rich cultural scene, and all of this will be showcased to a global audience during the conference.
Dona Regis-Prosper, the CEO of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), said that this year’s theme, “One Caribbean: Infinite Experiences” fits perfectly with what Guyana offers.
She explained that the region is all about community, resilience, and building an inclusive, forward looking tourism sector. And that’s exactly what Guyana exemplifies.
“This event gives Guyana a fantastic opportunity to highlight its unique blend of nature adventures, cultural treasures, and top-notch facilities,” Regis-Prosper said.
“It’s a chance to shine on the world stage and show everyone what makes Guyana special.”
Details on how to register, what programs will be featured, and the exact location will be shared soon through official channels from the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Guyana Tourism Authority.
