Grenada Soca Spotify NYC success is rewriting the story of Caribbean music on digital platforms. For the week of August 29 – September 4, 2025, three Grenadian Soca tracks landed on Spotify’s Local Pulse New York City, putting the island’s sound in the spotlight during Brooklyn’s Caribbean Day Parade.
Grenadian artists delivered nearly 40% of all Soca songs featured on the playlist during this period. The milestone highlights both the international pull of Jab Jab culture and the rise of Grenada’s producers and performers on streaming platforms.
V’ghn and Terra D Governor, with producer Kay Frass, pushed “Jab Decisions” to #42 on the Local Pulse NYC chart. The track also became the first Grenadian Soca song to break into Toronto’s Local Pulse Top 10, where it held strong for more than five weeks. Its now-iconic hook, “Spicemas could neva be a bad decision,” continues to soundtrack carnival lovers across the region and beyond.
Muddy, Grenada’s 2025 Soca Monarch winner, brought “Payroll” to #58 with production by Xpert Productions. Dred Lion and Socallective powered “Grease It” to #59. These first-ever Local Pulse NYC placements for the artists prove Grenada’s expanding Soca footprint.
Fans streamed the three Grenada Soca Spotify NYC entries more than 650,000 times in just three months. “Jab Decisions” attracted 322,000 streams, “Payroll” drew 255,000, and “Grease It” earned 83,000. Earlier in August, both “Jab Decisions” and “Payroll” also broke into Spotify’s Local Pulse Toronto, extending Grenada’s Soca influence to Canada.
Grenadian artists continue to push Soca forward on global platforms. With Grenada Soca Spotify NYC breakthroughs, the island’s sound is now reaching new audiences. From Jab Jab energy to cutting-edge production, Grenada is showing the world that its Soca is more than carnival—it’s a global movement.
