Grenada is taking a bold step to strengthen its creative sector. The Government of Grenada, through the Office of Creative Affairs, has joined forces with AnimaxFYB Studios, West Africa’s top animation and multimedia company, to launch an intensive skills training programme this November.
From November 5 to December 2, young creatives will receive hands-on training in animation, photography, videography, and live streaming. The programme aims to equip participants with world-class skills that boost employability and open doors to global opportunities. This landmark collaboration between Grenada AnimaxFYB Studios marks a major moment for the region’s creative industries.
A team of expert facilitators will travel from Africa to Grenada to lead the sessions. They bring years of industry experience and a passion for nurturing new talent. On the animation side, Toon Boom Animation, the global leader in 2D animation software, will work alongside AnimaxFYB Studios to deliver practical, industry-level instruction.
This partnership goes beyond skill building. It creates a bridge between Africa and the Caribbean, encouraging collaboration and innovation across borders. By investing in young people, the programme helps lay the foundation for a sustainable creative industry that can thrive internationally.
Francis Y. Brown, Founder and Creative Director of AnimaxFYB Studios, highlighted the deeper purpose behind the initiative:
“This collaboration is not only about training; it’s about legacy. We are creating a shared language of creativity between Africa and the Caribbean, empowering young people to tell their stories with tools that meet global standards.”
With leadership from AnimaxFYB Studios and the Office of Creative Affairs and support from Toon Boom, this programme will reshape Grenada’s creative landscape. It sets the stage for a new generation of talent to build careers, tell powerful stories, and connect with the world.
