The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) is thrilled to announce the launch of its inaugural Hospitality Camp, an immersive programme specifically designed for Form 3 students from various schools throughout Grenada and Carriacou.
This exciting initiative, fully funded by the GHTA Tourism Enhancement Fund, will provide 24 young participants with real-life experiences in the hospitality and tourism industry.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the GHTA Hospitality Camp aims to inspire the next generation of tourism professionals by offering campers a unique opportunity to explore the diverse facets of the industry. Throughout the programme, participants will gain insight into key departments including Human Resources, Public Relations, Finance, Health and Safety, Spa Services, Wedding Planning, Marketing, Food and Beverage, and more.
Campers will have the chance to meet and interact with representatives from esteemed establishments, including Sandals Resorts, Spice Island Beach Resort, Silversands Grenada, and Mount Edgecombe. Additionally, they will engage with professionals from the water sports and dive sectors, event planners, and industry leaders from both the GHTA and the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).
“This camp is a pivotal step in nurturing young talent in the hospitality sector,” said Arlene Friday, CEO of GHTA. “By providing these Form 3 students with hands-on experiences and opportunities to connect with industry leaders, we are investing in the future of Grenada’s tourism industry and empowering our youth to pursue careers in this vibrant and diverse field.”
The Hospitality Camp not only reinforces the importance of tourism in Grenada’s economy but also encourages participants to envision themselves as future leaders and innovators within the industry.
