Curaçao Tourism on the Rise

Curaçao continues to show strong tourism momentum, recording an 8% increase in stayover arrivals in September 2025 compared to the same month last year. The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) reported that 53,671 stayover visitors arrived on the island during the month, highlighting consistent Curaçao tourism growth across several key markets.

Diverse Markets Drive Growth

North and South America led the upward trend, with arrivals rising by 13% and 11% respectively. Europe followed with a modest 4% increase, while travel from within the Caribbean fell by 8%.

Europe remained the island’s largest source region, contributing 21,407 visitors, followed by South America with 14,516 and North America with 14,283. According to Immigration Card data, visitors stayed an average of 8.3 nights.

Top Performing Markets

The Netherlands held its position as Curaçao’s leading source market, contributing 17,693 visitors, a 3% rise year-over-year. Dutch travelers stayed about 12 nights on average, and more than half (57%) chose non-resort accommodations.

The United States recorded 13,245 arrivals, an 11% increase from last year. Most U.S. visitors (69%) stayed in resort hotels for an average of 5.8 nights.

Colombia also showed impressive results, with 3,803 arrivals a 26% jump compared to 2024. Colombian visitors stayed roughly five nights, and 57% opted for resort stays.

Year-to-Date Tourism Growth

Between January and September 2025, Curaçao welcomed 1,207,419 visitors across all travel segments, a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This total included 581,144 stayover arrivals, 34,262 day-trippers, and 592,013 cruise passengers.

Stayover arrivals alone grew by 13%, underscoring the island’s steady upward trend in the region’s competitive travel market.

Strengthening Curaçao’s Tourism Position

Tourism officials say the results reflect Curaçao’s growing reputation as a reliable and attractive destination for both leisure and business travel. The combination of improved air connectivity, expanded hotel inventory, and diverse experiences continues to drive Curaçao tourism growth.

With increasing demand from North and South America and a loyal base in Europe, Curaçao’s tourism story remains one of balance, momentum, and long-term potential.
