Jamaica’s transatlantic airlift is set for another boost next summer, as British Airways Jamaica flights increase with the addition of a fourth weekly service between London Gatwick (LGW) and Kingston (KIN) for the Summer 2026 schedule. This expansion highlights the growing demand for seamless connectivity between the UK and Jamaica.
Starting April 4, 2026, the additional Saturday British Airways Jamaica flight joins the airline’s existing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday operations. As a result, travelers, especially members of the Jamaican diaspora, will enjoy greater flexibility when planning trips. Moreover, officials expect the move to fuel tourism growth while also strengthening economic ties between Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
Tourism Minister Hon. Edmund Bartlett described the expansion as more than just a tourism milestone.
“Air connectivity is a critical pillar in nation-building,” he said. “This fourth weekly service will not only support our thriving tourism sector but also enhance trade, investment, cultural exchange, and the bonds between Jamaicans at home and abroad. Ultimately, each additional British Airways Jamaica flight represents new opportunities for economic growth and job creation, helping Jamaica solidify its place as a premier global destination.”
In addition, Director of Tourism Donovan White echoed this sentiment, calling the UK “one of Jamaica’s most significant source markets.” He noted that the added frequency aligns with Jamaica’s ongoing strategy to expand airlift and improve accessibility across the island.
“This extra rotation gives visitors even more flexibility to explore our vibrant capital and the wealth of experiences Jamaica offers,” White added.
Looking ahead, seats for the new Saturday British Airways Jamaica flight are already on sale. Consequently, the island is well-positioned to capture rising demand for summer 2026. Furthermore, tourism authorities anticipate that the added capacity will encourage longer stays, facilitate family visits, and open doors for new business and cultural opportunities.
Overall, with Jamaica’s tourism sector experiencing steady post-pandemic growth, British Airways’ expanded Jamaica service underscores the island’s enduring appeal to UK travelers as well as the broader Caribbean travel market.
