American late-night flights

American Airlines late-night flights are transforming travel to the British Virgin Islands, removing the long-standing need for overnight layovers in Miami. The new schedule improves convenience for leisure and business travelers while strengthening air access to the destination.

The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission confirmed that the service launched on December 18, marking the first time a commercial airline has introduced a late-night arrival into the territory.

American Airlines Late-Night Flights Improve Access to Beef Island

Under the updated schedule, American Airlines Flight 3668 arrives at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island at 10:14 p.m. This new arrival time allows passengers to reach the BVI on the same day without overnight delays.

The return service, Flight 3398, departs the following morning at 8:00 a.m. The daily operation will continue through March, aligning with peak winter travel demand.

American Airlines Late-Night Flights Strengthen BVI Connectivity

Kurt Menal, Director of the BVI Airports Authority, described the new service as a major step forward for regional airlift. He said the schedule expands access from key U.S. markets and adds flexibility for residents, families, business travelers, and visitors.

Menal also emphasized the importance of the ongoing partnership with American Airlines in improving the territory’s aviation infrastructure.

Ending Overnight Miami Layovers

According to Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands, the updated timing removes one of the biggest pain points for travelers. Visitors from North America, as well as those connecting from the UK and Europe, can now reach the BVI without overnight stops.

Tourism officials expect the improved schedule to boost arrivals while preserving the premium travel experience the British Virgin Islands is known for.

Building on American Airlines’ Existing BVI Service

American Airlines already operates five daily nonstop flights between Miami and Beef Island. The new late-night arrival builds on that foundation and reinforces the carrier’s commitment to the destination.

As demand for seamless Caribbean travel continues to grow, American Airlines late-night flights position the BVI as an easier and more competitive destination.
